DENPASAR ~ Some 141,000 police officers are to fan out around the country during the Christmas and New Year, a national police spokesman said.

“Indonesian police will deploy two-thirds of its forces, or 141,460 officers …” spokesman Sisno Adiwinoto said.

“They will be mobilized in 31 regional police offices to guard churches, mosques, tourism sites, and other crowded places,” he said.
