Being together with your family, and if we all get along everything will be fine.
What were your dreams as a child?
Well, it sounds simple, but just to be a good parent.
What advice would you give to the younger generation?
These days Kuta is 100-percent different than when I was young, and Iâ€™d say to the young people that they need to be careful with who they hang around with so they donâ€™t fall in with the wrong crowd and ruin their lives.
Are you worried about dying?
I believe that God lends us a soul, and I donâ€™t mind if God wants to take it back from me whenever He wants.
What do you think will happen to you after you die?
I heard from a priest that we have to pay for what we have done in this world before we are reincarnated.
When was the happiest time of your life?
When I realized I had eight grand children, as I only had one son.
And the worst?
When my son passed away a few years ago.
Whatâ€™s humanity all about?
Peace. If we want to survive, we have to strive for it.
Why are there so many conflicts in the world?
Because some people like to conquer others, and some want to turn entire countries into nations based on one religion.
Is a peaceful world an impossible dream?
We need to work hard if we would like to live in a peaceful world.
In summary, are you disappointed with your life or happy at whatâ€™s happened?
I always thank God for the life that has been given to me, and I never feel disappointed with what God has given because I believe God gives us the best.
Did you have the opportunities you thought youâ€™d have?
Yes. I got a life and lived it and got married and am now seeing the next generation growing up and enjoying their life.
How much has luck played in your life?
Life is like a wheel – sometimes you get lucky, other times youâ€™re hit by bad luck. In my life Iâ€™ve had both, about 50-50.
Has life been a battle or relative plain sailing?
Life is about fighting to keep surviving.
How old do you feel?
Old enough but my spirit is like a 45-year-old.
How do you feel about the aging process?
Itâ€™s a natural process, so whether you like or dislike it, itâ€™s going to happen.
Are you resentful about age – that your life is near its end?
I never feel resentful about age and the end of my life â€“ it will come to all of us, so you donâ€™t have to worry about it.
Was there anything you would have liked to have happened but didnâ€™t?
Only one: I wanted to have a daughter and see her married, but it didnâ€™t happen as I just had a son.
Is one lifetime enough?
One lifetime is enough for me, but in my (Hindu) religion weâ€™re reincarnated after we die.
Would you like to live till 150?
I wouldnâ€™t like to live to more than 90 â€“ Iâ€™ve seen enough of this world. (BT/IP)
