Officially, the Moon has now ‘peaked’. But it is still pretty full and it may be few more days before recent tensions, dramas and passions calm down a little. This week, both Mars and Pluto stand still in the zodiac. Celestial bodies do this just before or after they appear to change direction. Mars is now ending a retrograde phase. Pluto is just starting one. They are both symbols of energy and strength. Many of us may soon notice shifts in the balance of power, in our relationships, at our place of work… or perhaps in global politics.
ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
‘Here is a silk handkerchief. Let me wave it in the air, fold it and produce a dove. Here is a tiny seed. I shall drop it in the ground and let it give rise to a tree.’ The first suggestion is often made by stage magicians when they are about to practise sleight of hand. The second is part of the repertoire of the world’s greatest real magician, the incredible Mother Nature. Her tricks take more time but they are a lot more useful. You can’t create something out of nothing this week, but you can set a wonderful process in motion.
TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
There is an old saying: The harder they come, the harder they fall. This is one good reason for being soft-hearted. Here is another: we protect ourselves better, by being flexible. When we develop rigid attitudes, we also create brittle personalities. The slightest knockback can cause us to feel shattered. It is important for you to be generous, gentle, giving and forgiving this week. Even if you fight a battle and you win it, you will lose touch with the sweetest side of your own nature. Yet that is now your most powerful asset.
GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
Venus is now in your sign. Normally, I would tell you to expect a few weeks during which you become more loving and more loveable, more creative, inventive and popular. But Venus, this year, is due to spend a surprisingly long time in Gemini. She will bestow her benefits upon you through till early August. And, in June, she will reveal herself in broad daylight as a tiny black dot across the face of the Sun. So this marks the start of a wonderful new phase. Forget whatever once seemed impossible. It is possible now.
CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
We all have dreams that tantalise us so much that we are willing to believe almost anything that might appear to support those fantasies. This is just the way we are made. But we need to make ourselves aware of how such hopes and visions colour our judgement and prevent us from making wise, practical choices. We must also be wary of the conflict that can arise when such inner hungers clash with other people’s delusions and desires. All will be well this week, as long as you are honest, at least with yourself.
LEO (July 24 – August 23)
People agree that the best way to avoid a problem is to keep everything simple. Sadly, they don’t always agree about how to do this – and sometimes, they come up with some very complicated ways to keep things simple! Or they look at the differences between their own simple ideas and the simple ideas of others, and try to build an intricate, convoluted, bridge. You can’t create a state of complete harmony with someone else this week. But you can agree to differ, and that can be simple and successful!
VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
Mars has been slipping slowly backwards through your sign for weeks. This has given you energy… but a lot of that energy has somehow turned in on itself, causing you to feel defensive and doubtful. You have been questioning your hopes, dreams, intentions and aspirations. By this time next week, Mars will have changed direction. It will still be in Virgo, but it will be going the ‘right way’. You will then rightly feel that your life is going the right way too. The brave choices you make this week, will contribute greatly to that.
LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
They say, ‘You are only as old as you feel.’ They are right. If you are young at heart, you will be full of attractive energy, no matter how many grey hairs you have. If you take life too seriously and become distracted by difficult memories, you can end up having ‘senior moments’, even in your teens! But to be young at heart, doesn’t automatically mean to be peaceful or mellow. The young are often more prone to be argumentative and unreasonable. This week’s cosmic climate enables you to be childlike, not childish!
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
Pluto is a tiny celestial object, so distant that astronomers no longer even consider it a planet. But we astrologers make many of our predictions on the basis of Pluto’s movements and we find it a reliable indicator of coming events in the lives of those who share your sign. Pluto turns retrograde this week. So, is that a something or a nothing? We might ask the same question about the issue that is now taking up so much of your time and energy. It is a something that will soon matter far less to you.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
One of my favourite themes is the relationship between power and responsibility. I often have to tell people that they should recognise the true and full extent of their own influence and think more carefully about the impact they are having. Usually, this point arises when I see a suggestion that someone is underestimating their own strength and importance. So I rarely need to give this advice to you! But right now, you are inclined to see yourself as powerless, when in fact you could hardly be more powerful.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
Sometimes, when we try to make a decision, we flip a coin, toss a dice or cut open a pack of cards. We decide that if we get heads, or even numbers, or a red card, it will mean ‘yes’, otherwise it’s a ‘no’. This process can be revealing. The result gives us a feeling. We either take it as confirmation, or we feel impelled to question it. What signs and signals do you feel you are now seeing from the universe? If you like them, trust them. If you don’t, at least trust them for a while before you decide to try again.
AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
When you stand at the top of a tall building and look down, you see much that might not be visible to you if you were at ground level. You can see where roads lead, you can see what’s hidden behind a hedge or a wall. We can plot a route, plan a journey, assess the best way to proceed. All this understanding evaporates when you are dealing with more day-to-day, down-to-earth challenges. How did you start to see your life the last time you felt as if you had been lifted up to a high place? Stick with that this week.
PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
As Mars now starts to stand still in your opposite sign, you are dealing with someone who has reached an impasse. It is as if they don’t know which way to go or which way to turn. Your transactions with this person – be they conversational or practical – lead only to frustration. You would prefer them to be decisive. Even a choice that had a negative impact on you would feel better than a state of continued uncertainty. Or so you feel. Be patient. They are closer than you think to making up their minds in a way that suits you.
