People make a lot of fuss about the weeks, each year, when the planet of commerce and communication appears to retrace its steps. The phrase ‘it must be Mercury Retrograde’ is used, even by non-astrologers to describe a hiccup in business or a problem with messages. Mercury is not reversing now but since July, Uranus, planet of social change and technological innovation, has been retrograde. This week, that changes. We may soon hear exciting announcements from the world of science and technology. And in countries where recent progress towards political reform has slowed, there may be progress again soon.
ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
People believe what they want to believe, they see what they want to see. Even those who claim to be open-minded can put up a lot of resistance to any idea that seems to challenge their current understanding. Only when we break with our established routines and allow ourselves to explore unfamiliar territory do we become capable of at least entertaining fresh thoughts. Life would be so much easier for you now if only someone could understand what you want to show them. You must try your best to be patient.
TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
Too much now hangs on someone else’s hook. Or it depends on another person’s decision. Or it involves circumstances over which you have little control, even though they have great influence over your future. How do you reclaim your power? Surely there must be some way to redress this imbalance. Indeed, there is. Worry less about what you can’t change and look more closely, this week, at what you do have the ability to alter. That is more than enough to make a significant difference to an important situation.
GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
Dictionaries and encyclopedias are full of definitions and explanations. How can there be any mysteries left, when, everywhere we turn, we see so much information? Mind you, it doesn’t all agree! In between all the so-called statements of fact, there are opinions and assumptions, all seemingly, similarly inarguable. You now find yourself struggling to make sense of a series of claims and counter-claims. Where does the truth lie with regard to one particularly confusing and contentious matter? You will soon find out!
CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
‘If you can’t do the time, then don’t do the crime.’ That is what they say. They also say, ‘If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.’ That is good advice too, although it makes no allowance for the possibility that you may be trapped in a kitchen from which you can’t easily escape. If you could start all over again from scratch, you wouldn’t put yourself in the situation that you are caught up in. But, given where you actually are, how do you actually get to where you need to be? This week’s new moon will yet show you the way.
LEO (July 24 – August 23)
Hello. Are you there? Is there anyone reading this at all? Sorry, it’s just that I can’t quite see you. That is, if you are there at all. Is that really you? You are just looking so very withdrawn and absent. A shadow of your former self, if you don’t mind me saying so. You can do better than this. You can find your fire, rediscover your strength, bring back your power. Soon after this week’s new moon, that will all begin to become possible once more. And I promise soon, too, you will remember what it feels like to have fun.
VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
Have you ever taken a ride on a simulator? You climb into a cabin, they shut the lid, show you a film and shake you about. It feels as if you are aboard a vehicle that is hurtling through chasms, racing round corners, colliding with cliffs. Yet, in reality, what is going on? It is an illusion and a pretence. You are choosing to interpret various artificial signs and signals as if they were real. Yet if you don’t want them to be, they don’t have to be. Please keep all that in mind as you deal with what looks, this week, like a bigger problem than it is.
LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
The world sometimes seems so unsure and uncertain. So many reasons to feel insecure, so many problems that may never be solved, and so many pressures. Hardly a day goes by without someone, somewhere, becoming keenly conscious of an unmet need or a resource that’s in scant supply. This week, you can easily find reasons to worry but if you put the same amount of energy into tracking down a positive solution, you can also easily find a surprisingly large amount of what you need the most.
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
We sometimes seem to spend a lot of time having to go on the defensive. You are conscious of complaints and criticisms. And you really don’t like it when people find fault with you. Yet, you have many admirers too. And much to feel justly proud of. Venus, as it continues to pass through your sign this week, will do much to bolster a sense of confidence and enable you to emanate an attractive, appealing air that may melt hearts, win over opponents and attract real material opportunities into your life.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
This week brings two annual events: the new moon in Sagittarius, and the yearly visit of Mercury to your sign. If there is something you need to accomplish, you now stand a fine chance of getting it done. If there is something you have been trying to understand, a ‘eureka’ moment is imminent. And if, somewhere in your life, there is a chapter you would like to close so that a whole new tale can begin to be told, here is your chance. I won’t promise that the next few days will be entirely trouble free but you will find much to be glad of.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
None of us like to feel as if, somehow, we aren’t good enough for somebody else. We don’t want to be rejected or dismissed and we certainly hate to imagine that we are someone’s second choice, only in a situation because the ideal, preferred candidate was not available. Lately, you have begun to experience some uncomfortable suspicions of this nature. How deep, real and committed is an important involvement? Events, this week, may yet bring you a surprisingly large amount of relief and reassurance.
AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
Often, when we are hunting high and low for something, we end up discovering that it has been right under our nose the whole time. We can hardly believe that we have put ourselves to so much effort for an inconvenience in our quest. There are, of course, times when it is appropriate to search far and wide and to acknowledge a willingness to go, if necessary, to the ends of the earth. But, this week, you neither have the time, nor the energy to spare. So, you should be thankful that what you seek is available so close to home.
PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
Where does the time go? We are nearly at the end of another year and, when you look back on the resolutions you made last January, how many of these can you say you have managed to fulfil? How did you get so distracted? And how much does that matter? Lately, in one area of life, at least, you have accomplished more than you might ever have dreamed possible. And this week, you begin to see the real proof of this. You have reached a valuable new understanding and it is beginning to change your life.
