This week’s Full Moon comes just as we reach a peak in this year’s rare, intense alignment of slow-moving planets. Jupiter and Uranus are close to each other on one side of the sky. Mars and Saturn are almost exactly opposite. And Pluto sits at a right-angle to both pairings. That’s why so many of us feel as if we’re caught up in some kind of battle or struggle where we’re not even sure what side we’re on. Changes and challenges keep arising. But, for all that this is tough, it’s cathartic and constructive – plus, ultimately, healthy and beneficial.
LEO (July 24 – August 23)
In our efforts to live up to our own standards, we can expend an awful lot of time, energy and money. Just think how much easier life would be if we could only persuade ourselves to do less caring and less comparing. Consider all that you are now striving so hard to protect and preserve. You want things to be a certain way. You will accept no substitute. That’s why you are tired out. It is also, though, why you are now so close to an impressive success. Stop if you really want to this week, but don’t give up just because times are tough. You’re closer than you think to a breakthrough that could make all the difference.
VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
How do you attain happiness? How do you become truly comfortable? How do you fill your heart with so much enthusiasm that you can overcome any obstacle, override any negative development, overthrow any unhealthy habit pattern? By relaxing. By trusting. By making a real effort not to get stuck in old fears. By trying hard not to get emotionally drawn into new dramas. But mainly, by asking and even praying to the universe for the ability to be appreciative of all that’s so wonderful in this world! There’s a real gift on offer now. Don’t ignore it, don’t doubt it and don’t miss your chance to bring about the change you need.
LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
We are taught from an early age that we must cut our coat according to our cloth. There’s no point in hankering after things we can’t afford. We mustn’t waste time striving for goals that we can’t attain. The trouble is, we never really know what’s realistic until we try. If we are too quick to dismiss a hope or an idea, we may be flushing something precious down the pan of pessimism. I am not urging you to be unrealistic this week. I am, though, suggesting you look hard at what may have the potential to become a reality. Much more is possible than you think. Believe in yourself and in your brightest dream.
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
The earth rotates once a day. Once a year, it circles the sun. The sun itself is slowly orbiting some distant point. Even this “Galactic Centre” is also describing a celestial circle. Wheels within wheels. Small cogs interacting with larger ones. No wonder we all feel as if we are caught up in some great machine. Its engine is constantly turning, yet is it really getting us anywhere? Then again, where do any of us really want to get? We just want to be able to enjoy wherever it is we currently happen to be. The only thing you need this week is the ability to relax and be yourself. That’s about to prove easier than you expect.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
Habits are easy to form and hard to break. Desires are easy to develop and difficult to fulfil. It’s debatable whether you need to add anything to your life at the moment. It’s much more likely that you need to take something away from it. Why do you want what you want? Wouldn’t it be better, by far, just to stop wanting it? Be wary of powerful passions and intense needs. Look for solutions that require less effort, yet offer greater rewards. The obvious is not the issue. Dig a little deeper, be a little more imaginative and above all else, be willing to embrace a change that’s long overdue and you will get all else you need.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
After a while, we get used to wading through treacle. We don’t expect our steps to be anything but sticky. We wear treacle-proof boots. We develop treacle-treading techniques. Then, to our surprise, we walk out one morning to find the streets have been cleaned. The treacle has all been washed away. We miss it. We even feel suspicious. Could it be a trick to lull us into a false sense of security? Mars, as it now aligns with Saturn, suggests that something awkward is about to leave your life. Something good is coming to take its place. Don’t fear this change, embrace it. Start acting as if you truly believe that you won’t get stuck.
AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
Constructive dialogue is not always smooth. Sometimes, when people speak in soft tones about matters of apparent agreement, they are just discreetly glossing over difficult differences. Sometimes, too, when they appear to be bickering and battling, they are actually negotiating a “working compromise.” Conversations should never be judged by their immediate outcomes. Time is often needed for words to sink in and attitudes to alter. The very fact that you now have a “problem” is a reason to think that important issues are finally getting the attention they need. Soon, you’ll have answers that make you much happier.
PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
You are now in a situation which is full of “shades of grey.” It is far from colourless – but there is no ultimate black or white. You have to create your own definition of what is important and, having done so, you have to trust that. Everything can be seen from more than one angle and if you now force yourself to stick with a single, rigid point of view, you’ll narrow down the range of opportunities on offer to you. There will come a time soon when it’s appropriate to make and stick to a clear choice. For the coming week, at least, though, it is more appropriate to remain truly open-minded and to be willing to make a new discovery.
ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
Mars, this week, will form a conjunction to Saturn, which, in turn will oppose Uranus while it is in a conjunction to Jupiter. Think of it as a “doubles” tennis match, with your ruling planet in one of the teams. Now imagine Pluto sitting by the net, overseeing the game and “calling the shots.” That’s the extra dynamic to this game. The two sides are evenly matched. The victors may simply be the ones who get a little extra helpful judgement from the umpire. You’re now engaged in a struggle that you have the potential to win. But success may depend more on who you know (and can call on for help) than on what you do!
TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
The pressure is mounting by the moment. You don’t want to do what you suspect you ought to do. You don’t especially want to not do it either. What you want is to be somewhere else, dealing with something different. This urge to escape is contributing to an inability to resolve an outstanding issue. You’ve got to find, from somewhere, a greater spirit of acceptance and optimism. A degree of additional flexibility will help too. If you stiffen your resolve, you’ll grow rigid. But it’s much better for you to bend than to break. If there’s anything at all that you can now bring yourself to change this week, change it!
GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
What are we without our problems? Are we content, comfortable and complete? Or are we bored, bothered and bewildered? We need to be constantly striving for something. Our days would be empty if they were easy. That’s why so many of us hang on to our hardships. We don’t really want to be free from them – for then, we would have to ask a lot of questions about who we are and what we are supposed to be doing. Don’t let any of this be the reason why you turn down this week’s opportunity to finally overcome an old difficulty. It’s time to let go of an old source of pain and open up to a new reason to celebrate.
CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
Some misunderstandings arise innocently. One person fails to express themselves clearly. Another makes an assumption. The result is a regrettable problem. Some misunderstandings are more insidious. We all, at times, hear what we want to hear because it suits us better to do so. A misunderstanding has arisen in your life recently. There is really no point in trying to blame yourself or anyone else for this. What matters is just that you now have a chance to clear it up. Be unequivocal when you speak. Listen with similar commitment to clarity. Things, no matter how sad or stressful, can yet be put right.
