By Jonathan Cainer.
This week’s Full Moon comes to a peak just as we reach a key moment in the story of 2013. Since June, the planet Uranus has been retrograde. It is about to turn direct. That suggests news of a scientific breakthrough and a big revelation about some institution in urgent need of change. Add this to the collective questioning of convention that has lately been led by Comet Ison and we see a most unusual festive season unfolding. There are serious issues under discussion and big dramas being played out. But there are many reasons to feel hopeful too.
ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
When is a problem not a problem? When it is helping you to recognise the existence of an opportunity. If you weren’t so upset about a silly situation, you might never have been able to summon the determination necessary to create a vital change. But recent events have shown you just how precariously balanced an arrangement now is. A plan is not working as it should. Now, though, through an angle between Mars and Saturn, the cosmos presents you with an early Christmas gift: the chance to put things right.
TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
Due to the phenomenon of retrograde motion, Venus sometimes appears to stand still. When you see Venus in the sky this week, you will notice that as it slowly sinks below the western horizon in the hours after sunset, it occupies much the same position, relative to the background stars. Venus rules Taurus. It tells us about how you are faring. The suggestion here is that you feel as if some crucial aspect of your life is remaining frustratingly static. Yet the right kind of change is happening for the right reason. Trust this.
GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
This is real life, not Hollywood. There’s always a chance something truly magical will transform your life in an instant. But there remains a much greater likelihood of repetition. Most probably, what’s happening today will be happening tomorrow. And so on. Is this, then, why we should train ourselves to take pleasure in the little things? Should we learn to appreciate the small because we fear we’ll never encounter the big? Most certainly not. This week’s Full Moon in your sign brings something to be amazed and delighted by.
CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
Imagine that you have been driving an old, unresponsive vehicle. Now you have been given a very different kind of car. If you drive this in the same old way, you’re going to end up in a lot of trouble. The slightest turn of the wheel will now bring you a big change of direction. The tiniest touch on the pedals will have you hurtling forward or screeching to a stop. The Full Moon suggests that your cosmic climate has begun to alter. After some passing tension this week, you will be able to proceed in the expectation of easier progress.
LEO (July 24 – August 23)
What are you good at? The trouble with this question is that it does not lead to just one simple answer. You have many abilities to draw on. You are doing what you do now because circumstances have arranged themselves in such a way as to require it of you. Yet if circumstances were different, you could do something else – extremely well. Should you alter your circumstances? Or should you wait till they change in time? You have a choice. There is no need to feel insecure. The Full Moon is a promise of support.
VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
Sometimes, we take extreme positions in the name of moderation. We shout about the need for subtlety. Or we pursue minimalism to excess! Now, you may be wondering what this has to do with your astrological outlook. But probably you are ahead of me – as you tend to be ahead of most people. There’s nothing wrong with the cosmic climate, it offers plenty of positive opportunity. But take care, in the run up to the holidays, that you don’t go too far, too fast… whilst thinking all the while you have not done enough.
LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
A new topic is coming up for discussion. This is a very interesting one. Recently, you would have had little time to think about it. It would not have seemed at all relevant to your situation. Now, though, well, maybe it’s the imminence of Christmas – or maybe it’s the tone of voice in which something is being said but you are starting to think hard. You are right to feel excited and inspired about what’s possible. It could well prove to be just perfect. Mars in your sign insists that you are entitled to a better deal – and a better experience.
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
Problems, even when we find a good way to resolve them, never really just disappear. They merely alter their level of intensity. Or we alter the degree of seriousness with which we take them. The imminence of the holiday season, combined with the current cosmic climate, is making you feel unduly anxious. There is no implication of a difficulty with which you cannot cope. There is merely the suggestion of a tendency to feel as if you cannot cope with a difficulty. There’s a crucial difference. Believe in yourself this week.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
If it really is a mountain, why is there a little furry mole with tiny beady eyes, at the top? And how come, when you stand tall, it becomes nothing more than a minor mound on the ground? Mountains don’t change size, regardless of how we may alter our sense of perspective. They look big from a distance, and they look big up close. Even if we fly up in a plane and look down on them, they still seem pretty darned big. Your current challenge only seems big when you are feeling small. You can easily rise high above it this week.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
Once, when you were naive enough to believe in your own dreams… and foolish enough to trust the promises you made to yourself, you set your heart on something. Many moons have now passed by. Events have obliged you to become more realistic. Or should that be more cynical? You can now see a thousand good reasons why you will never be able to do what you once wanted to do. Yet there is one good reason why you should ignore them all. It is not too late. There is yet time to do what you always said you would.
AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
You have started to accept an unsatisfactory situation and have begun to see disappointment as somehow inevitable. Quite why you have let yourself become so vulnerable is a topic for a longer discussion, except to say that it has something to do with the recent retrograde phase of your ruling planet. That comes to an end this week, inviting you to look instead at what you can do something about. There lies the answer to your every question. Regain your confidence by putting your faith, your experience and your natural wisdom to good use.
PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
Can there ever be peace, prosperity, freedom from fear, joy, contentment, fulfilment and serenity? Well actually, yes there can. And you are not as far now, from any of this, as you may suspect. Think of a lake, deep and still. On the surface, ripples wildly roll. On the surface in your life, there’s much craziness and chaos. The further we look, though, at what you are really doing and feeling and thinking, the more we find you in a strong, sensible position, making moves that can only work out right for everyone in the end.
