Venus has spent much of February, catching up with Mars in Pisces. Mars has just slipped ahead into Aries. This week, Venus enters Aries too, and the long-awaited conjunction of these two planets finally takes place. It is too late for Valentine’s Day but it is an encouraging development for those with romantic aspirations. Then, towards the end of the week, there’s a conjunction of the Sun with Neptune. This provides a further encouraging portent for idealists, visionaries and dreamers. If you have had your heart set on something for some while, this may yet be your week.
ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
A little oil will soon silence a squeaky hinge. Engines run better when the mechanical parts are well greased. And have you ever wondered why parents are so keen to teach their children to observe social niceties? When we say ‘please’ or ‘thank you’, we make people feel more inclined to co-operate. Friendly facial expressions serve a similar purpose. This week’s conjunction of Mars and Venus will ease your passage and aid your progress by helping you to feel more positivity, and thus to communicate it.
TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
None of us are always at our best. We may function better at particular times of the day or the week. Spending time in the company of one person can raise our game and sharpen our focus. Others put our backs up and awaken a desire to be obstreperous and unhelpful. Different celestial influences can also have a great impact on our moods and attitudes. This week’s cosmic climate is conducive to constructive co-operation and the attainment of excellent results. Prepare to do surprisingly well.
GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
Mercury’s recent retrograde phase is over – and now the planet that rules your sign regains lost ground. Or should I say, lost space? Whilst there are always hairs that we can split and details that can be debated, the cosmic message is clear this week. You are compensating for setbacks, adjusting for apparent losses and enjoying, once more, a sense of positive progress. Maximise this astrological advantage by refusing to think too hard about what has gone wrong or where you may feel let down.
CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
Happy New Year! Do you want your seasonal greeting with noodles and beansprouts? Or sweet and sour sauce? The movements of the Moon define the start of the Chinese Year of the Goat and although I use a somewhat different predictive system on your behalf, we can’t entirely ignore the association. Your sign is, after all, ruled by the Moon. So you are entitled to look at all that’s happening, this week, as a chance to declare one era over and another just begun. You can make a resolution, too. It may well stick.
LEO (July 24 – August 23)
We all sometimes secretly wish that we were puppeteers. If only we could hold the strings that control the movements of various characters with whom we are involved. What actions might we encourage them to take? What ideas would we get them to change if only we had that power? This week, which brings a gloriously waxing moon, makes you more keenly aware than ever that someone else is entirely autonomous. Don’t bemoan this natural fact, respect it and you may yet see a spontaneous, genuine change in them.
VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
How are you enjoying 2015 so far? It is a little too late to think of it as a New Year, yet it still has most of its course to run. And, according to our Chinese, Tibetan and Taiwanese cousins, the New Year starts right here, right now. The end of Mercury’s recent retrograde phase can be construed as conveying a similar message to all born under Virgo. Don’t judge anything or anyone on what has happened so far, just be open to a future full of real reasons to celebrate. The road to that glorious era, for you, begins this week.
LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
Has someone slipped an extra shot in your cappuccino? Even Librans who are caffeine-free may start to feel this week, as if they have got slightly more energy than they probably should have. A conjunction of Mars and Venus is a strong suggestion of additional energy and determination. You have no intention of being beaten and, even if recent events have knocked you off course a little, here is where you come bouncing right back. Nor will you turn out to be all smoke but no fire. You have real ability to attain success.
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
Gregory House was the American TV doctor who could find out what was wrong with almost anyone. His catchphrase was ‘everybody lies’. I’m not trying to suggest that this week you will see proof that he was right but it may just be worth raising an eyebrow of suspicion with regard to something you are being told, no matter how emphatically or insistently. Don’t presume malice. There may be many a noble reason why information is being withheld. But all will benefit once you gently, lovingly, get to the truth.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
Life is getting intense. Well, OK then, more intense. It hasn’t, I agree, been a gentle stroll in the park for quite some while. But then, you like a little action and adventure. Go on, admit it. Only a little, mind. When it all gets too much, you like to be able to seize control. Sometimes, you need to have more than enough of something before you realise that you have had enough of it. That’s all that’s happening this week. The decision that you are reaching now, is intelligent and inspired. Of course, it will work out well for you.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
Who is in charge of Earth? Is it governed by some commercial institution like a business or a bank? Or is it more like a charity where earnest philanthropists sit around deciding who can benefit from the next round of blessings and who must wait a while longer? The planets don’t judge us as we lead our lives. Neither do they understand profit or punishment. But wherever they can, whenever they can, they will help us. Have faith in the idea that celestial aid is coming your way this week. Because it is.
AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
The annual New Moon in Aquarius is always the trigger for Chinese New Year. The festivities to usher in the Goat are late because, this year, the New Moon falls at the very last degree of your sign. So consider yourself powerful because your sign is so important to millions of people. And consider yourself blessed because what might almost never have happened, has happened at the last possible moment. And consider all that as an auspicious omen of how things are due to pan out this week for you.
PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
Some astrologers might care to commiserate with you about the departure of Venus and Mars from your sign. But you have benefited from their presence and may yet gain more from processes set in motion, unbeknownst to you, during that fortunate phase. Meanwhile, this week brings a new positive planetary portent. The Sun conjoins your co-ruler Neptune and that is as good as a guarantee of relief and release. Here is where you get to let go of an old gripe or grievance and embrace a rare opportunity.
