Forecasts for week beginning Saturday, January 26, 2013.

By Jonathan Cainer

Two exciting developments take place this week. The first is a glorious Full Moon, stirring up excitement and drama all over the world. The second will really be apparent only to keen astronomers. If you’ve been watching Jupiter, shining brightly around the midnight hour and if you’ve been tracking its movements very carefully, you’ll see that it is staying in the same relative position all this week. It is ‘stationary’ as it ends a retrograde phase and prepares to move ‘direct’ once more. The symbolic implication involves the ‘release’ of a generous spirit into the hearts and minds of millions.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
The opportunity before you, this week, seems less than ideal. You can see it’s good, you can tell it’s real and you can also accept, if you’re honest with yourself, that it represents just about the only feasible option you have. Yet for some strange reason, you feel reluctant to take it up. You want some dream solution, not this seemingly slightly awkward fudge. Try to overcome this resistance. There’s far more to what’s on offer than you have understood. You will acquire a new, more inspiring understanding soon.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
The further into the future we move, the more adept we become at preserving the past. Our ancestors had only books and paintings to remind them of what went before. Then came photographs and videos. Now, our lives are full of reminders of how things used to be. Does that make it harder for us to move on? No matter what you are pining for or feel angry about or cheated by, you need to draw a line this week. What’s gone is gone. But what is coming up next – as you will soon see – has the potential to be wonderful.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
Are you looking at an exceptional opportunity? Are you not sure whether you need to be talked into – or out of – a big idea? As you look set to be going ahead with it, regardless of what anyone says, there seems little point in dwelling on the downside. If there is one of those, it will reveal itself when it is good and ready and it will turn out to be less problematic than you feared. Meanwhile, the Full Moon, in the part of your chart that governs trade and negotiation, has a message for you. If you are clever now, the right deal can be done.

CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
Sometimes, the fortune fairy taps us on the shoulder with her wand and everything starts to go our way. Sometimes, she just brushes briefly past our door, depositing a package as she goes. Her deliveries are often odd. They rarely contain the name of the sender. Often, indeed, they are parcelled up as problems. Even if we can see through this disguise, we tend to discover, as we unwrap, that we have been given a kit for self-assembly. You now have to do a little figuring. But you still have a lot to be glad of.

LEO (July 24 – August 23)
The full moon in your sign, invites you to prepare for a change that’s more far-reaching than you yet realise. You have long wanted to gain more respect and become more influential. You will soon start to see how the opportunity to make this happen is beginning to arise. Explore this and take your time. Every choice you make and every action you take should be guided by inspiration and enthusiasm, not fear or pressure. This week you will be delightfully guided by some obvious and reassuring signs and signals.

VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
Imagine if the tide came in and never went out, or the sun went down and never came back up again. Why such gloomy thoughts? Well, it’s just that we often find ourselves pining for times of perpetual sunshine. We want everything to be just great, and to stay that way. Then, if that doesn’t happen, we imagine that what’s gone will never return and we must have done something wrong. Ointments, though, will inevitably catch flies, just as advantages will always turn out to have drawbacks. Trust, this week, in life’s natural rhythms.

LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
Be careful who you call for help. Some agencies of aid and assistance create problems of their own. There are several ways in which you could resolve your current issue. None of the options are easy – some appear to be more attractive than others. Don’t be in such a hurry to get an answer of any kind that you ignore all but the most obvious possibilities. Dig deeper, ask more questions and be prepared to take your time. You want (and deserve) an outcome that will feel just as right in ten years, as it does in ten days’ time.

SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
Let’s try an experiment. I’ll think of a lemon and you see if you can guess what I’m thinking about. Ready? Let’s go. Have you got it yet? Wow! Amazing! It IS a lemon! How did you know? Or, to put it another way, you don’t need to be a mentalist or a clairvoyant to see what’s on a certain someone’s mind at the moment. All you’ve got to do is care enough to detect a pretty obvious signal. Why should you do that? Well, it depends on whether you want your mind read in return. Sensitivity is the key to success this week.

SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
Flags of convenience. Arrangements that look good on the surface but which become ever more dubious the more you investigate them. How many of these do you want in your life? Don’t answer that. Don’t try to turn it round either and say, ‘It’s not about what I want, it’s about what I have to put up with.’ Here’s how much unacceptable material you are obliged to allow into your world. None. Now, here’s what the current powerful full moon is doing. It is helping you to get rid of all that. Don’t be afraid of change; be delighted by it.

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
Are any of us perfect? Sooner or later, even the most flawless folk will fail some test of strength of character. Yet if we allow for the possibility of perfect imperfection, we can cut ourselves a lot more slack. It’s easy, as you now look at your current situation, to be aware of all that seems less than ideal about it. But maybe your judgement is too harsh or narrow. Be more willing to forgive yourself, to forgive others and to forgive the situation you now find yourself in – and your week may yet turn out to be surprisingly close to perfect.

AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
Talk is cheap. There’s not a person on this planet who doesn’t have something to say. Very few of us ever give as much attention as we should to the thoughts and feelings of those around us. At best we pay them lip-service; at worst, we just ride roughshod over one another’s deepest sensitivities. Then we wonder why the world is full of folk who seem so fed up. The current cosmic climate brings the chance to establish a very real and meaningful level of communication. Open your ears – and your heart, this week.

PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
Break the rules. Challenge the assumptions. Question the conventions. Or, at least, some of them. There are certain forces that you cannot and must not ignore or defy. The sky is giving you strength, but it is not making you superhuman. Look carefully at what you can and cannot get away with. Show respect for the boundary that will not budge – and then throw your energy into pushing the factor that does show the most likely signs of flexibility. All you have to do is what’s possible – and, somehow, you’ll get what’s necessary.
