This week takes us closer to the time when days and nights are of equal length. For those in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s the Spring Equinox. For those in the Northern Hemisphere, the Autumn (or Fall) Equinox. But, seasonal differences apart, the cosmic phenomenon has one meaning. It speaks of a time to redress imbalances and address inequities. That’s why so many of us, no matter where we may live, are now feeling inspired to start clearing out our clutter. And for some, this week’s Full Moon may add an extra edge of emotional urgency to that universal impulse!
ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
When people want to sound very sophisticated, they talk about ‘deferred gratification’. They say that if we want jam tomorrow, we must make do with bread today. It sounds sensible, but when people deny themselves too much for too long, they lose their taste for luxury. They become unable to treat themselves – even when they can afford to – because they have psychologically adjusted to a state of deprivation. You now have a chance to do something wonderful. Don’t deprive yourself of that this week.
TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
The yellow phial contains the truth serum. The green one is the sedative. Don’t mix them up. And whatever you do, don’t let anyone slip similar substances in your drink. Remember, you’re up against a tricky adversary. They will stop at nothing to get to the secret before you do… and if you get it first, they will go after you! Or, er, to put it another way, be careful what you say. Keep your ears and eyes open. Remember you want to acquire information, not to give it away… and expect a week of revelations.
GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
Are you in the mood for an argument? Oh, yes you are! Well, okay then, maybe you are not. But it certainly seems as if someone is. You will find it hard to avoid being drawn into some kind of debate this week. Contentious issues are under discussion. Irritating assumptions are being made. No matter how hard you try to rise above the battle, you will find your passions are hard to suppress. Perhaps it is better to let them out. Someone needs to know the score and you are the best person to tell them – gently!
CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
History is hypnotic. We can dwell on it and mull it over to our heart’s content (or discontent, as the case may be). The future is fascinating. We can wonder what it may hold for ever and a day, getting so involved in conjecture that we fail to notice when a new reality has arrived. Look in either direction and you will gain a sense of escape from the present. But is that what you want? Your week is due to be deeply rewarding. You will miss the opportunity within it if you spend too much of your time in another time.
LEO (July 24 – August 23)
I have been asked to have a word with you on behalf of all those who are trying to put you under pressure. They have banded together to reduce your options, but you still seem determined to do what you want to do. Who do you think you are? Don’t you know the purpose of your life is to please all the other people in it? Why can’t you wise up and walk in the direction that you are now being pushed? The alliance is especially concerned because, if you can only manage to hold out, it may lose the advantage it has over you!
VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
Our thoughts and feelings are subtly shaped by our expectations and by our sense of identity. These in turn, are affected by our education, upbringing, experience of life so far, and by the people we live, work or socialise with. On top of all this, there is the advertising we encounter, the peer pressure we receive and the romantic fantasies that books and movies plant in our minds. Step back from it as far as you can. Ask, what do you truly want? Under the Full Moon in your opposite sign, you can get closer to that this week.
LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
Traditionally in a forecast like this, it’s my job to offer an insight into what’s to come. Currently, though, you have a far better idea of what’s in store than I do. You can see the future or, at least, a certain aspect of it, a little too clearly for comfort. If you keep doing this, that’s going to happen. What you are not so sure about is whether you want that result and how you will come to feel. The answer is: it depends on how sincere you are being and to what extent you may be trying to deceive yourself. The truth, this week, is your friend.
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
Some people can make something out of nothing. Others, it seems, can make nothing out of something! These are skills, valuable in their own way. There are times when we need to distract people’s attention and disguise the issues that we would prefer them not to see. There are times, too, when with a little smoke and a couple of mirrors, we become able to make something minor seem major. So, what’s your formula for success now? It is, whatever you want to see, multiplied by however hard you are willing to work.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
Don’t fill up on candy. You will spoil your appetite for proper food. But what if there is no proper food on the way? What if you had best resign yourself to extracting as much nutrition as you can from that which is sticky and sweet? Some people have some very funny diets. They get used to things which are really very bad for them. But, then, others eat all the right stuff and it certainly doesn’t guarantee them a healthy attitude to life. A little of what you fancy now, in many areas of life, could do you more good than you think.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
Some parts of the future, they tell us, are set in stone. Others, they suggest, are merely etched in pencil. The pencil can be inked in, or it can be erased and replaced. But the more solid stuff is beyond all change. What’s the matter with these people who say all this? Have they never been to visit the Taj Mahal? It is possible, not just to chip away at a piece of stone till you change its inscription but even to alter the message on a piece of marble. It just takes a little more effort. Remember that, this week.
AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
‘Take care of the pennies and the big bucks will take care of themselves.’ So one old saying goes. But they also say ‘Penny wise. Pound foolish.’ Convert it into the currency of your choice, it’s still true. We can get so caught up in looking at the detail that we forget the bigger picture. These contradictory beliefs are both relevant… and irrelevant. A sense of perspective is what you now need. Don’t let financial issues alone decide anything. Be true to your heart and all else you need, you will find.
PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
Here comes a Full Moon in your sign. That’s a chance to change your life, if ever there was one. Really, though, it would be a mistake to assume that everything is going to alter dramatically. Sometimes, Full Moons bring immediate, impressive upheaval. More often, though, they force decisions. They bring matters to a head and oblige us to face facts that we might prefer to ignore. They allow us to adjust our ideas and free ourselves from negative beliefs. If, though, you want to rewrite the story of your life, you can begin.
