I’ve been thinking a lot, lately, about the Moon. We each formed our own relationship with it the moment we first saw it in the sky. It deepened when we realised how it follows us along when we’re travelling. In astrology, the Moon symbolises your most private profound passions. We look to see where it was when you were born to reveal what you care most about. Yet it also governs ‘the spirit of a community’. For the Moon, after all, is something we share. This week’s Full Moon will bring many people a little closer to each other.
ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
A seemingly endless drama is being played out. Every so often it looks as if it is about to get interesting – but mainly it is a repeat. You suspect you are merely living through some pale parody of what could be a much more satisfying saga. This week enables you to see how you can add depth and intensity. You are starting to make a discovery that is aggravating in one way, inspiring in another. You are becoming keenly aware of what’s wrong and why. You are also understanding how to put it right. Soon, you’ll get the chance.
TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
What are your dreams? Are they just comforting notions to amuse you in your wistful moments? Or do they deserve to be taken seriously? And how seriously do others take you? Are you tolerated or appreciated, humoured or respected? To have meaning, a dream doesn’t have to come true. It just has to be shared… and supported. If you don’t believe in your own dreams, how can you expect others to believe in you? And if you don’t believe in someone else’s dream… well… maybe it is time that you did!
GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
We are all dream-weavers and storytellers. We are spin-doctors and image consultants. We put twists in tales, create justifications to suit our desires… and manipulate arguments so that they support whatever case we want to make. And we can all deny that we ever do such things. You can believe whatever you want to believe. But if you really believe that what you want to believe is true, why are you trying so hard to make a particular point of view seem so believable? Be honest and objective, at least with yourself.
CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
Back in the 70s, a very successful film gave rise to a well-known saying. ‘Love means never having to say you’re sorry.’ No wonder the divorce rate shot up during that decade. Sorry is a wonderful word. Some overuse it, others utter it too rarely but Mars in your sign implies that somewhere in your world, an apology is in order. If it’s down to you to make one, be brave and graceful. If you feel you are due one, forgive, even if you cannot forget. Grievances stop us all from moving on. You now have a chance to gain freedom.
LEO (July 24 – August 23)
‘To be or not to be… that is the question…’ So says Shakespeare’s Hamlet in his most famous speech. He’s weighing up whether there is any point in his own existence. But, then, we all do that at times. To an extent at least, this is healthy. This week’s Full Moon triggers a profound personal process. You may not quite be as close to the edge as the Prince of Denmark got, but you’re staring into an abyss of some kind. Not only will you live to tell the tale, it will be a tale of triumph. You are mustering courage. It will serve you well.
VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
What do you know? More than you might think. Who do you know? Ditto! Don’t assume, as the Full Moon wanes this week, that you lack connections and contacts. What you need to discover, you can find out. Where you need to communicate, you can. And when you need someone to help, if you just reach out for support, someone will step forward to help you. It’s as if an invisible protective force-field surrounds you. You may not be able to see it – but somehow, each time potential trouble arises, you’ll sense it.
LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
It seems you are being led in a direction that is not of your choosing. I would love to be able to say that this week, somehow, you regain the reins of power. But the truth is that you won’t because you have not actually lost hold of them. You are in a fine position, even if it is not one that you have consciously selected. You are being taken towards a destination that you sorely need to reach. Once you get where you are going, you will be truly glad that you went through all you did and that you put up with all that you had to accept.
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
As we edge ever closer to the equinox, the light and shade in your own life begins to balance out. Something is changing within an important personal relationship. Now, please, don’t run away with the idea that I am talking here about your love life. I might be. I might not be, though, either. I’m just talking about an agreement, an understanding, a way of working. A basis on which joint decisions are made. Where things have been unsatisfactory, stale or stressful, there can now be a big shift for the better in the balance of power.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
If something is really meant to be, it will happen regardless of how hard you try to prevent it from happening. And vice versa. But what if something is neither meant to be nor not meant to be. What if your feelings on a matter are ambivalent? In theory, you can let things go either way. Why bother making choices if you’re truly not fussed how a situation turns out? All you need to know about this week is that, while Venus and Jupiter continue their intense and exciting astro-dance, something wonderful is meant to be. So let it be.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
‘A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.’ So sang Mary Poppins, and who would want to argue with her? This week, you get first the sweetener then, later, the pill. Will it be a bitter one? Yes, if you try to take it without the coating. But why would you want to do that? This is a genuine, much-needed remedy. It will work swiftly to fix your problem with no unpleasant side-effects. The only thing that’s not so great about it is that you don’t like the taste. But there’s a way to offset even that. Trust this week’s helpful development.
AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
The world can be cruel at times. Some people, it seems, delight in being cold and disapproving. They will go out of their way to force others to go out of their way. Negativity begets negativity. Intolerance begets intolerance. But friendliness fortunately is just as contagious. You are generating positive energy; it is about to dispel a lot of gloom. Find the courage to be kind. Be strong enough to be soft. Take a stand against cynicism. No matter how weak you may feel, you will soon reach a position of power. Use it wisely.
PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
Is the ocean calm or crazy? Waves, when stirred up by the wind and the weather, can be intense. Yet if you happen to be in a submarine, many fathoms below, you will see a world in which all is tranquil. Same sea – different depth. If you wish now, you can relate to the superficial side of your current situation. You can watch the thunderous foam as it breaks over the bows of boats. Or, you can dive deep within your own wisdom and find the part of your heart that’s safe, strong and sure. Let the Full Moon in your sign guide you there.
